Damage, Shortage, & Return


   Damages or Shortages:
  • Responsibility for shipping damage or shortages is defined by governmental and shipping industry regulations. Here are several important points to remember: Ownership of merchandise shipped by common carrier transfers to the consignee immediately upon being picked up by the transportation company - NOT WHEN MERCHANDISE IS DELIVERED.
  • Liability for damage or loss to the consignee’s property during transit rests with the carrier. It is the responsibility of the consignee to inspect and promptly report any damage or shortage to the delivering carrier upon receiving the shipment. Sometimes the driver is unable to wait for the inspection of the merchandise, please note on Bill of Lading: "driver is unable to wait for full inspection." 
  • Please **DO NOT SIGN** Bill of Lading (BOL) until you are sure that the merchandise has been delivered in good condition. If you should discover damage, and it is acceptable/fixable, please note it on the BOL and accept delivery. If damage is unacceptable, please refuse and notify us immediately at 1-888-811-AYCA or 909-390-5357. You must sign the BOL noting any damage or your claim will not be honored. A signed BOL without any notes considered the merchandise received in good condition. Any claim afterward will not be honored by either the freight company or AYCA.
  • Claims for reimbursement of damage or loss must be filed with Common Carriers by the consignee.
  • Concealed damage occurs when a product is damaged eventhough the carton appears to be in good conditions. This kind of damage occurs occasionally. It is the motor carriers responsibility and must be reported promptly within 14 days from the delivery date.
  • Leave all damaged merchandise in original carton(s).
  • We are willing to assist you in any way we can in collection for your claim for loss or damage, but we are not responsible for filing or collecting claims, or for replacement of merchandise.
    Returns:
  • Merchandise may only be returned with prior Ayca's authorization. If approved, an RMA number will be issued. 
  • Only products which are normally inventoried can be returned. All closeout and special markdown items are not returnable. The sales on those items are final.
  • All related transportation costs are to be borne by the purchaser. Authorized returns must be received in new saleable condition, and are subject to restocking charges of 25% the net invoice amount.
  • All return shipping must be made within 30 days of Return Authorization. Credit authorization will be withheld if merchandise is not saleable. If the credit authorization is not obtained, purchaser will only receive a maximum credit of 50% of the net invoice amount.
